The first ever surprise party I’ve planned – since a month ago – and I am very very glad that it turned out as good as I wanted it to be.

The sight of your surprised face still lingers in my mind, and it makes me smile.

On Saturday, I woke up early and prepared for my boy’s big day – his 21st birthday! :D Met up with Amanda to pass her the alcohol that I bought for the party the day before, and off I headed down to his place. It was nice to wish my boy Happy Birthday with his just-woke-up-sleepy-face-and-messy-hair. (: Took out my polaroid camera and started taking pictures of his family members to add into the book I made for his 21st birthday – a collection of all the birthday wishes for his 21st! :D

We drove off to Werner’s Oven at Siglap, as recommended by Baby. We ordered quite a feast, but to be honest I think I don’t really know how to appreciate meat like oxtail and lamb. I’m more of a white meat person, and I guess that probably means fish and chicken. I’m sucha bore, but I don’t really fancy beef, lamb or ox. /: I loved the Pork Knuckles though! :D And I ate all of the sauerkraut! :D And because I’m a carbo person, I wiped out all the potato. D: Ohhh, and I love the breaded cheese and desserts too! <3

After lunch, his Dad drove us all to Marina Bay Sands Hotel because I booked a room to celebrate Jon’s 21st. Apparently, I booked the room for “just the both of us” and I only told him the day before when we were in Bintan. It kinda fulfilled his wish (without me knowing) because he jokingly told Raymond & Co. that he wants to book a room at MBS and swim in the Sky Park when they were here. Now, he can flaunt to them about his experience! And another small wish of his was also to bring his family up to the Sky Park, it was killing two birds with one stone! :D

After his family left, and we went back to the room to laze a little while before heading up to the Sky Park for a swim at the infinity pool! (: The room’s rather spacious in my opinion, so I have no complains about it even though March said that the view of the room was quite terrible (since she was the one that helped me to book the room)!

We swam to the edge of the pool and had a bird’s eye view of the entire Singapore City! :D He was telling me how we were looking at the same view from a different angle at Swissotel’s Equinox on my birthday 4 years ago, telling me about Hello Kitty (that’s the name that Jon gave to the Merlion at Fullerton because it looked really small from where we were).

Jon took a picture of this because he said this was supposed to be a proof of me busy messaging on his birthday. Well, I was busy messaging Amanda to plan for his birthday surprise!

After swimming for a while, I went to laze on the bed because 1) I was getting a little lazy and 2) I had to message Amanda to know how’s everything going in the room.

A very random note: TThe weather that day was quite sad! ): It was so cloudy I couldn’t witness a beautiful sunset with Jon. Everything was practically covered by the gloomy clouds. ):

To fill you in, there was actually 2 set of keys to the room and I only took one while Eugene (March’s boyfriend) took the other so that Amanda can grab it from him while we were swimming in the Sky Park. So while Jon & I were swimming (dragging time actually) at the Sky Park, Amanda and Edwin (Jon’s army buddy) – who were the main people that helped me to bring everyone together – were setting up the room for his surprise.

When Amanda told me that almost everything’s ready in the room, I told Jon that I actually made a “dinner reservation” for his birthday at some restaurant so we should get back to change. When we got back, everything in the room was left the way it was before we left. As he was taking the towel/clothes to bathe, I told him I had something for him and opened up the curtains to the balcony where all of his friends hid behind.

He was so shocked and surprised to see all of his friends, more surprised to see that I’ve included his brother and his army friends into this party. His face was so priceless, I wish I captured it on camera. But yes, that was the face that brought huge satisfaction to me. The very face that brought me pure happiness and bliss. (: So instead of having a dinner reservation at a restaurant, we actually ordered Macdonalds takeaway. I mean, it was more of the fun that we were getting from the night! Amanda said that giving the guys good food would be like throwing them into the bin because they just want to fill their stomach, hahaha!

This party leaves me feeling happier than the surprise party that Jon arranged for me on my 21st. Not that it wasn’t good, but I guess it leaves me feeling happier to see my love happy and pleasantly surprised. (:

Ever since Saturday, I can’t stop smiling to myself whenever I think of what was planned for me.

I have never been this happy. (:

Saturday was the day that I have been looking forward to since the 2nd of Jan. The day that I’d reunite with my love, the day that I’d be back in his warm embrace and kisses. Little did I know that there was more that’s planned for me.

I stayed at home the entire afternoon, went to the salon to have my fringe trimmed, then was just trying to find something for myself to do at home while waiting for time to pass, just to see Baby upon arriving. I even went to take a nap! He told me he reached Malacca (took a coach from KL back home) and would be reaching in about two hours, which would be another hour later from the expected timing. It made my day passed even slower because every passing minute was a dread until I see his face.

As the time got closer, I decided that I’d head down to Chinatown to get myself a cup of KOI bubble tea, and another cup for Jon since he haven’t tried it before. But before I could even make my order, I received a call from Baby saying that he’d be reaching my place soon when I was supposed to pick him up at Harbour Front. I asked him to come to Chinatown instead since it’d be on the way to his place, but he insisted that I head back to my station and meet him there despite knowing that he has to wait.

It felt so good when I could hear the sweetest melody that rings to my heart, calling out for my name even before I could even see his face. The hugs and kisses felt so surreal. When I asked why he insisted that I should go back to Boon Keng instead of him taking a train down to Chinatown, he said “Because this would be exactly the scenario 4 years ago, during our first reunion.” That, made me smile. (:

Anyway, I was damn sad. I was in such a rush to head back to my station that I actually forgot to take straws from KOI, and the long ride back to Lakeside wasn’t exactly short, so my ice-cream milk tea didn’t have my ice-cream pleasure anymore. ):

We were supposed to have “a light dinner at The Chau’s, then head out for Bak Kut Teh with Amanda and the guys”. But just as we were about to enter the lift, Baby said that he wanted to buy some stuff, and then we walked towards the BBQ pit. And the very next moment, Jon asked if I could see my friends.

Just when I was planning on doing nothing fanciful on my 21st birthday, my dearest had a surprise birthday party planned for me while he was still in Melbourne; with the help of my dearest friends. All the hassle and trouble he had to go through without even being physically here in Singapore, I really appreciate it a lot Baby.

I had such a blast. Jon knows that I have never had a birthday party before, so he arranged this specially for me a month before the actual day while he was in the midst of his exams. He contacted a few of my friends from different groups, and got them to help invite close friends to this party. I’d really want to thank Amanda, Stacey, Randy, March, Estella, Matthew & Tiac Woo for helping him out!

Jon was telling me the entire process of the day when he was preparing for the party. The boy was actually back 2 days before, and he didn’t want to meet me because of this surprise birthday party. And it really made me smile when he said that he met up with Amanda and Stacey, my very important girlfriends, earlier in the afternoon to run errands just for the party. Especially when I know from Jon that both of them clicked pretty well! :D And the both of them actually introduced KOI to Jon before I do!

He then held my hand, smiling, asking if I was glad that he brought two of my very close girlfriends together. Yes I am darling. Happier than anything. (But Amanda and Jon’s damn bad, they didn’t want to talk to me because I didn’t cry!)

Thank you so much for everything, everyone. I still can’t stop smiling thinking of this special day. (: I think I am so happy that I actually look happy and radiant without my make up on, for the very first time! :D

Anyway, I still have got a lot more DOPT peeps that I haven’t met! Really want to just spend this day with these lovely people just over a simple meal would be great. I’ve gotta go find time out to do so, and that’s if they’re free for me too!

School of Chemical & Life Sciences Annual Dinner & Dance 2010

Yesterday was the last event of my journey in poly, and that refers to the Annual D&D (guess I can also call this a prom)! :D Didn’t regret going for it because it was so fun seeing everyone dress up and looking all so glamorous! :D I invited the Jinglan, Peiyu, Ziwei and Yuli to my place to dress up and prepare for the dinner together. But apparently the earliest (Jinglan) was an hour late from the meeting time, so you can guess how late the rest were from there. Hahaha. But I guess it was fun! Some girly time dressing and putting on our make up together. :D Mommy helped me with my make up a little and she lent me the falsies she bought which wasn’t used before, and I’ve gotta say that falsies has got to be the hardest thing to do for make up! :O Doesn’t feel that it really changes my look a lot though. All I really need is for my (real) lashes to be more curled! /: Wore the blue dress I got from the Melbourne trip last year, and it’s the first time I am wearing it. What if I said that I bought this dress a year ago just for this event? I am actually quite serious about this, y’know? q: My accessories – Diva earrings & Tiffany bracelet – are both gifts from Jon! See Baby, I carry you with me everywhere I go heehee. ;) The Diva earrings in particular was a gift from Jon about 3 years back when I was still in St. Margaret’s! It has been with me for so long already. From my very first prom to second (which is probably the last too) and it’s still serving me well. (: Pinned up my hair because I have no idea what else I could possibly. /:

We took a cab down to Conrad International, and then started camwhoring while waiting for the others to arrive! And… Matt got Pei Yu a stalk of sunflower, awwww so sweet and nice! (: Anyway, I was so glad that I didn’t died on my killer heels for the night! :D

The theme for the D&D was Casino, and though I thought it was a little lame…. but bring on the vices! The food served was really good, except that it came with stingy portions! /: I even ate the celery that was served even though I hated celeries. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise that I’m eating my greens! (: Love the abalone soup with mushrooms (double yum)! And I was eating, I thought that afterall perhaps my favourite cuisine would still be chinese food. (:

And it makes me sad how I never ever won anything in any lucky draw before! ): And apparently the second prize enticed me more than the first. iPod Touch > XBOX360! Girls camwhored for really long in the toilet while the guys just sat outside and waited for us to be done. It was damn funny how bored their faces were when we were out.

Had a really awesome prom to end of my journey in poly, though it would have been a lot more fun with the presence of some others too. But on a terribly sad note, I feel utterly disgusting looking at how fat I am in the pictures. ): I need to shed the fats seriously. Gotta stop thinking about it and work on it! My tummy seems to be very determined to be taking permanent residence ugh. I just wanna get rid of my tummy and have more toned legs and arms and I’ll be satisfied. Alright, that basically just sounded like I need an entire make over for myself. ): Oh… and my hair is damn screwed up. As dry as the desert. Speaking of which, there are two non-work-related thing I wish to achieve when I start working: To cook my own packed lunch to work (not everyday though) and work out frequently. I really wish to be more discipline and bring out the domesticated self in me. Not forgetting that by cooking my own packed lunch I can save some money and opt for a healthier meal! And of course, I’ll never forget this: Happy 47th month Mr Silly. Haven’t called you this in about 3 years ago, and it still brings back loads of memories. Really love the way you reminded me that today’s the 7th in the very first phone call we had in the late afternoon. The voice you had that sounded as though I forgotten about it entirely. Priceless. I love you my best friend and boyfriend. <3

Now it’s only left with FYP Presentation (which is on Monday) and Clinical Test. One more week of school before I set free! And hey, I’ve already got the whole of the next week packed with activities right after freedom arrives! :D

It’s weird. This CNY, I’ve been only having 1 meal a day with hardly any CNY goodies popping into my mouth. Well, almost for the whole of CNY. Jon said I’m crazy because CNY has the most goodies, which is true! Whatever happened to my appetite? /: Perhaps it’s a good chance to work towards size 2 (hahaha)!

On Wednesday, Jeremy invited me over to their house to join in the gambling fun along with his fellow classmates (who are my year one juniors, but I only know one or two). /: I have never seen so many shoes outside The Chau’s residence before. :O Only joined his friends to play at a later time because I become quite an introvert when it comes to meeting a big crowd that I don’t know. /:

Thursday was a long day at school, finalising on the business report and getting it ready for submission. Was late for the meeting because I only had 4 hours of sleep the day before. Insomnia sucks so bad. ): Submitted the report, and then it was working on FYP slides. It was such a long day!

When I went to the station planning to head back home, I met the bunch of DOPT peeps who were on their way to Bugis for the steamboat session which I turned down. But in the end, I went with them instead because I got dragged down. Didn’t really regret it, though I was dead tired. But there’s this huge problem with me when it comes to having steamboat, because I only have the usual few; mushrooms (heap loads of them, really!), vegetables, and fishballs just to name a few. Sometimes that meat-eater in me is so tamed it doesn’t even function at all.

Then there was this surprise birthday celebration for Mr Lee as well! He seemed a little surprised with the birthday celebration as well. Zi Wei and I smeared some cream into his face, and thankfully his revenge failed! Wouldn’t want to have cream all over my face!

There was supposed to be this yu sheng session, but because there isn’t any around they used an overload of tang hoon (that was soaked in the soup) as a substitute! Oh gosh, it was so retarded but fun! Things you do as a student, priceless. (:

So the CNY vibes are almost over. It’s back to school, and I just gotta hang in there a little while more. Mad schedule up with me right now, and freedom smells so near yet so far! The thought of graduating (though unofficially) makes me really hyped up! But when it comes to making post-graduation plans, I don’t quite like it. ):

On a side note, I’m looking forward to receiving my Valentine’s Day present from my dearest when his Dad and both his brothers visits him in Melbourne this March! How lucky is this boy? He has got visitors every year! Though I think his gift is going to be some silly one (because he sounded like it was over the phone), I’m looking forward to receiving it.

Meanwhile, I gotta start cracking my head on Stacey & Amanda’s birthday gifts, and of course making an anniversary gift for Jon so that his brothers can help me bring it over for him (though it’ll make it a super advance gift). What should I get for him? I hate cracking my brains for getting gifts because of the lack of creativity in me. ): Would love to do something handmade and personalised though! But people, please give me some suggestions! No clothes, because I’ve already got him plenty of clothes. I hate cracking my brains on what gifts to get, especially when it comes to guys.

Why do I look like I am singing to myself while cutting the salmon?!

Jerwin and I brought Jolene down for a walk after dinner, and it turned out that the both of us ended having a heart to heart talk about relationships. I was surprised too because he was the one who started the topic about this. He asked how Jon and I can manage our relationship despite being away from each other, and was sharing me some of the woes he experiencing in his relationship. He actually thinks that bickering (for the fun of it) is actually cute, haha. He notices that Jon & I always do that, and we even fights behind them while Jeremy and him were on the computer playing their games.

And Jolene was damn cute. She just listened and joined in the conversation every little while as though she understood everything! Hahaha, that girl. Considering her age, I’d think that she’s a very obedient and mature 11-year old.

When we went back to his place, Jerwin showed me the card and bracelet he bought for his girlfriend for V’day. Oh, and also the photo album (about 100 photos) of his girlfriend and him! So cute! Teenage love.

After Jolene left, we drove to Marina to walk around Chun Dao He Pan to just walk around. Something that I haven’t done in a long time, but it was done because they just wanted to walk around instead of just staying at home.  And we saw Lee Kuan Yew with his whole bunch of bodyguards too!

Tuesday – Woke up early to get myself ready and headed off to school for project meeting. And yes you got it right – FYP project meeting on the third day of CNY. ): Matt felt that he wore the wrong shirt (SP shirt) because he felt like he was a big time loser heading to school. Work till about 2pm, and we went to Botak Jones for dinner since all the food courts in school were closed. Lunch was exceptionally filling I was going to burst. ):

Headed down to town and met up with The Chaus. Had dinner at an Indonesian eatery at Lucky Plaza, but I hardly ate anything since I was already bursting from the meal earlier. The food looked really good, but my appetite was shut off. And as usual, Uncle and Aunty always asked me to eat some and I did only for a few mouthful because I really can’t stuff myself any further.

Each one of us got ourselves one cup of chendol drink each. I thought it was so sweet I couldn’t even finish a cup! Had to get loads of ice water to make dilute the sugar rush. /:

Did some window shopping thereafter, and Uncle wanted to check out some belts at Prada. It was damn funny considering that Jerwin was wearing bermudas and slippers. But honestly, no one is bothered by that at all. Left the shop empty handed because the buckles weren’t nice at all. Or so I felt. His current Hermes belt is way nicer! Of course it has to be nicer considering the price he paid it for.

Drove off to Serene Centre for some ice-cream at Island Creamery for desserts. The Chaus love their Pulau Hitam ice-cream big time! Only had a few mouthful of ice-cream though they are my favourite desserts. CNY is just a sinful festive season. ):

I have officially lost track of time. I don’t even know if it’s Monday or Tuesday, or what the next day is. /: Doesn’t help bring me back to reality when I don’t have classes any more, but just project meetings. This is so screwed. ):

Lunar New Year is definitely one of my favourite favourite festive season along with Christmas! (:

The first day of CNY has been rather good! My family only left the house for visiting in the late afternoon, and the first stop was my to my god-grandma’s (Daddy’s godma) house! To be honest, we only visit them once a year we aren’t really that close. Apparently I do not feel weird being there, but maybe it’s because I was just busy indulging in the widespread of food. /:

Looking at my colourful eye shadow makes me very happy. Love the freedom to mix and match from this palette! <3 Very lasting colours, and it has served me well for the past year! (:

My Dad sent me to the nearest station, and I headed to The Chau’s Residence. I had quite a lot of fun playing Black Jack, which is almost a CNY tradition! :D But apparently I lost $9, so sad! ): When it comes to gambling, there never seems to be much luck with me, be it Black Jack or Mahjong. No such thing as beginner’s luck for me. Jon and I definitely shouldn’t be on a gambling site because it’s the same for the both of us. ):

Grandma’s place was next, and it was so nice seeing all my relatives all over again. Without a doubt, almost all of them asked where Jon was and I had to repeat the same thing to them every time. But whenever I talk about him, I can feel the smug and pride in me because we are still going very strong together despite being in a long distance relationship! (Y) And since some of my cousins have already gotten married and has kids, my Aunt asked when will it be my turn. I’m not even 21 yet goodness. -.-”

And Honey was being such a sweetie. He called me when I was at my Granny’s and he wished her and my parents Happy Lunar New Year over the phone. My Grandma was so happy she was smiling all the time when she received a short phone call all the way from Australia! :D

My cute little cousin, who seems to be recovering well from the traumatic incident last year. (: Jon talked to her on the phone as well, but she was too shy!

Amanda told me that Jon asked her to catch Valentine’s Day with me because I wanted to, and will pay for both of our tickets as a Valentine’s Day gift for me! *Awwwwwww* Seriously, this boy melts me with his little acts that may mean nothing to the world but everything to me. Thanks Baby, I really appreciate your effort and thought! (:

Ohhhh, and it makes me grin to myself on the inside when my relatives said that my face has became sharper! :D

Played Black Jack with my Dad and brothers again when we were back home, and I won $8 from being the banker! :D It was quite funny how my youngest brother lost quite a tad initially and said that he didn’t want to play any more. On a side note, I loved the way I did my eye make up today even though they are probably not obvious in photos for some reason. A combination of pink and grey/black! :D Truth to be told, I love the double-eyelids-effect whenever I put on my eye make up when I only have single eyelids!

There’s no V’day vibes that was going through me, which is good! CNY > V’day any time! And now, what should I wear tomorrow? Didn’t really go for any CNY shopping, so I guess it’ll depend on my mix and match skills.

I am actually at Victoria Secret’s website looking at their products right now, but it’s ridiculous because I am actually looking at winter clothes to be exact. I just love dressing up for the winter but Singapore doesn’t even experience winter or at least a weather that’s cold enough for you to wear thicker clothes! Seems like I am going to add more things to my wishlist right now. /:

Friday was Competency test, and it was bleak as hell for me. Sigh. ): I really thought I was pretty prepared for the test, but nervousness got the better of me. Pardon some of the optometric terms, but:

1. Pupils station was a major killer for me, which was also my first station. Miss Anna Yeo was so stern she made me feel like everything I did was wrong. You know how your confidence will plunge for the rest of it, especially when it’s the first station and you have 11 more to go.
2. K-meter screwed up on me, and it just won’t turn on! Changed to another room, and the same thing happened, until I went to the 3rd available room.
3. Insertion and removal of contact lenses was the easiest station, or so I thought because I’ve always been pretty fluent in it. But no, I was given Focus monthly lenses and yes, it took me 3 times to take out the lenses. Can you believe it?! I was much more smoother in inserting and removal hard lenses as compared to soft lenses?
4. For a moment I couldn’t even calculate what was 7/4, and it took me more than 5 minutes to calculate it. Sounds like a real loser, but I was totally brain jammed! ):

All in all, test was just bad. Sigh. I wished I had all the luck in the world and make it through the test. I really thought I could do way better.

Met up with my FYP mates for a short meeting and then met up with Amanda who waited for me at SP’s library. (: Headed to Bugis together, and we had dinner at one of the coffee shop! :D Amanda wanted to bring me to this dessert house which served very good desserts (and herbal jelly too), but it was closed. The expression on Amanda’s face was priceless when she Went to Starbucks to just catch up a little with each other, and I curb my temptation from getting a cup of drink because I’ve really spent too much this month (not on clothes apparently). ):

I have no idea why, but Amanda found it really amusing when I was trying to pour a cup of ice water into her bottle. And knowing what a klutz I was, of course I spilled water and some of the ice-cubes all over!

Walked around for a while and we headed to Muji! Quite a bit of crazy fun looking at all the overpriced yet pretty items over there! Amanda, looking at the winter hats we wore makes me want to get one for myself so bad! It’s so pretty! Makes me want to dress up for winter again, my favourite season! I love cold weather big time! <3

A very short meet up with this girl, and I wished I had forever more to spend. Looking at the pictures we took together makes me happy! :D And I really appreciate the fact that this girl called me earlier in the evening asking where I was so she can pass me some flowers! Awwwwww, so sweet! :D Doesn’t matter if I don’t get any in the end, because it’s the thought that counts! Really appreciate it babe! <3

Had to drag myself out of bed today for clinic, and I really abhor it! Clinic was such a dread because it’s CNY eve. ): But on a more positive side, at least I managed to hit my quota already! :D I was the last to leave the clinic because I had to teach my patient how to wear her lenses, so I had lunch on my own at Clementi. $1.80 chicken rice ftw! :D Cheap lunch makes me happy! :D

When I reached home, I helped my Mom washed the fans and then hit the sack because I was so tired. Wanted to sleep for an hour only, but ended up waking up 2-3 hours later, what a pig! /: The moment I managed to drag myself out of bed, I started packing my room immediately and it wasn’t easy! The weather was so warm that I was perspiring while packing! The water I used to clean my shelves turned black, but I feel really happy now because everything’s so clean and tidy now! A far cry from the picture below! :D

Now that I moved my mini bookshelf from the table to the book shelf, my study table is so much more spacious right now! Still looking forward to the day when I get to reshuffle my furniture then I’ll carry out more major changes! (: The only thing I’ve yet to pack today is my wardrobe! Feeling too tired by the end of the day. ):

Had reunion dinner at home and it was a really simple affair. Despite having a few simple dishes at home, it felt really nice because I haven’t had home cooked food with everyone dining together. (: Mommy prepared oatmeal prawns and pork ribs which tasted so good! Not forgetting my favourite home cooked soup too! :D

Something made me really upset today, but whatever I’m not going to broad over it and dampen my festive mood. I’m going to ask my youngest brother to play Black Jack with me later, and hopefully my Dad will join in too! :D

Chinese New Year feels so weird without Jon this year. ): I miss his presence at his place with all his relatives around, and then driving over to my Granny’s place with me to join my family for some visiting. A huge part of me is missing this CNY. Baby, I miss you so much. ):

On a side note, I’m so glad that Baby was so happy to receive my really simple V’day present for him – a pair of Sonic Gear Earphones, the same one that I got for myself! How I wish that I was there to witness his childlike happiness when he got the present! :D Could totally hear his happiness when he got it over the phone! (:

A very pleasant start in fact. (:

On New Year’s Eve, Jon & I woke up really late and our initial plans of going to Hort Park in the morning was aborted. We woke up at around 12pm, and only left my house at about 2pm. /: Headed down to Queensway market for lunch, and I was so upset because the ba chor mee uncle forgotten that my usual order was kway teow and not those yellow mee. I don’t eat yellow mee as much as I can, because I don’t like the taste. ): Went over to IKEA to get my full-length mirror, then to Queensway Shopping Centre to put it into Jon’s Dad’s car.

We thought of going to Hort Park after that, but thinking of the hot weather in the afternoon and the inconvenience of going there deterred us. And because I wanted to, we went shopping at Bugis! :D I made Baby walk the entire Bugis Village with me a few rounds because I was in the mood for shopping, and he was so tired! Thanks Baby for shopping with me without complains, though you might be a little bored. And Baby got me a romper too! :D I was feeling so happy that day, and it’s probably because of the ultimate combination of Boyfriend + Shopping! q:

I gave Baby a dinner treat at Ajisen, and we ate to our tummy’s content! Just feel like pampering my boy a little bit on that day. :D Had my usual crayfish ramen while Jon ordered volcano ramen!

I bought 2 pairs of pretty earrings after dinner, and then we took a bus down to Queesnway and waited for his Dad to knock off from work. Went back to his place for a short while, and then we drove to my place to fix up the mirror we bought! :D The mirror was done up, but we didn’t get to hang it up yet since the 3M hooks had be sticked onto the wall for some time first before it can be used.

Rushed out to make sure that we’d make it in time for the New Year together! :D Initially I wanted to catch the magnificiant fireworks at Marina Barrage together, but I changed the idea and suggested having a private countdown with only the both of us at our old dating place back in 2006! :D We bought fire sparkles so that we can play with it together! (: When we were walking along the river, we walked past a pub…

Pub: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6…. *counting donw*
K: Oh shit oh shit! We haven’t reached the particular bridge!
J: *Took out a box of sparkles and started lighting up all 6 sparkles while walking*
K: *Laughs to myself* It’s okay dear, we don’t need to start the sparkles at 12 midnight sharp! I just want to start the first moment of the year beside you.
J: *Still trying very hard to light up the sparkles because the lighter was slightly malfunctioning*
P: 3, 2, 1!
K: Happy New Year Baby! *Gives Jon a kiss*

In the end, he still didn’t manage to light up the sparkles at 12 midnight sharp. But he did after that, all 6 of them! So he was holding on to 6 sparkles in one hand while walking. -.-” That obviously meant that we wasted one entire box of sparkle without playing! ):

Instead of walking to the bridge, I suggested that we just settled somewhere along the river! So we crossed the barrier and walked down to play by the river! :D I had so much fun even though we didn’t buy too many sparkles! It was like bringing back to childhood memories of playing with them, and it was Jon’s first time playing them in 15 years (or so he said)!

Went to meet up with some of his Kent Ridge buddies – Amanda, Lim & Vincent – for supper at some coffee shop in West Coast (which is actually just opposite where my Grandma stays)! Chat for a while, and then Jon drove all of us to Henderson Waves because Amanda bought Vodka from 7-Eleven before that to drink/celebrate in-lieu of the new year! It was Jon & my first time at Henderson Waves, and there were a lot of people sitting around there! Anyway, the place’s quite pretty! :D

We just sat around somewhere, and then we started playing some games! I’m always proud of my boyfriend because he’s responsible enough to reject drinking since he has the responsibility of driving everyone back home! (: Anyway, the game we played was quite fun, and Amanda and I was in “a team” so we were damn high when the boys gotta drink it! Jon also couldn’t stop laughing the whole time because it was just hilarious! Amanda was a bit too high at the end of the game, haha.

The both of us only slept at around 6am, and then woke up at about 12.30pm. It was nice waking up to the start of the new year with your other half smiling beside you, wanting to love you, kiss and hug you tight. (: Anyway, we could have slept a little longer, but the boy has got to go pack his luggage and head down to the salon to get his haircut. His Mom and the both of us headed down to Chinatown together since she wanted to buy some stuff. I bought my toner, mascara and eyeliner since I was running low on them. It’s only the first day of the month, and I must control my spending!

Went back to his place for dinner thereafter, and then the both of us spent the rest of the night laying on the bed together till it was time for him to leave the house for the airport. It was nice, just having nothing to do and just talk to each other like that. (:

I love this boy, way too much.

The boy’s at Raymond’s place in KL right now, and will be taking a budget flight to Melbourne tomorrow. He could have probably taken a direct flight from Singapore and leave a day or 2 later, but chosing this route actually helped him to save about $500!

The past 1.5 months was like a breather to make up for the rest of the year. Though the physical time we spent together is probably a lot lesser than the others, but what we have is irreplacable. It’s so… strong, and fresh. I am actually feeling quite neutral as he departs from the airport, maybe because the both of us are slowly getting used to it. Every time we separate, a whole load of exciting plans await us when we reunite. There’s nothing I should be sad of. (:

I hope everyone had a good celebration, with their families, loved ones, friends, or anyone! :D

Christmas Eve was spent with mainly with Jon, Raymond and Xing Ying! :D We went to pick Xing Ying up, and met up with his Melb Uni commerce friends! we had buffet for lunch at Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant, located at Turf City! The food was good, and it was value for money! Gotta say that the sashimi is damn fresh, I like! :D

Went to Queensway thereafter because Raymond wanted to get his contact lenses while Rachel bought her sunglasses. Emmanuel and Rachel left thereafter, and we went to shop around Queensway for a little while before heading to Cathay to catch Avatar in 3D! :D Zongwen and his girlfriend joined us for it too. (: A good movie never feels long even if it’s last for almost 3 hours, just the same as 2012! The story line was good, and thumbs up for the CGI! Go catch it if you haven’t! :D

Had bak kut tehdinner at Havelock Road, our usual bak kut teh hangout! Went over to my place for a short while because I need to collect my stuff, and then we headed down to Holland V for some desserts. I brought my flute down since Xing Ying wanted to try playing the flute, and we played it in the car! Bet Jon must be irritated with all the noise produced! q: Raymond tried too, and it took him a long time to produce a sound! Hahaha.

Raymond just can’t stop laughing when he attempts to smile so as to get the right embouchure before he could actually start playing!

We wanted to settle at 2am dessert bar, but it was full booked so we went over to Mykii instead. Didn’t get myself anything because I had some cravings for Frolicks, but apparently it was already closed after we were done with the desserts at Mykii! ):

There was a group photo without Jon’s face being blocked. But the guys looked extremely retarded in there, so I am putting this up instead!

If you actually noticed, I didn’t have pictures from the first half of the day because my Dad borrowed my camera and only got them later that night. Pictures are with Xing Ying though!

Christmas was a simple affair. Jon & I went to IMM’s Giant for some grocery shopping to buy some food since we were whipping up a feast at home! Xing Ying and her boyfriend came along as well. Bought a hell load of things, and the bill came up to about $85! :O So much more than we have expected. /:

Drove back to Chau’s residence, and then we started preparing for our dinner straight away! It took us about 2 hours to finish cooking, and it was hard work! But I really love cooking with Jon Baby. Makes me feel so happy and achieved at the end of every cooking session. (:

I started with the dessert preparation first since it has to be frozen, which equates to waiting. Then I worked on the mushroom soup, and it turned out not too bad for the first time! :D A little creamy and the blender was too strong, that’s why the soup was quite smooth in the end. /: Cutting the mushrooms and cooking them before turning them into the actual soup required loads of effort! I am quite proud of it actually, but a lot of room for improvement! (: And because preparing the soup was so time consuming, Xing Ying’s boyfriend, helped me with preparing my signature mashed potato which turned out nice! :D

Our dinner: Mashed potato, chicken, salmon, cocktail sausages, carrots, broccoli, cheery tomatoes and mushroom soup! :D It was a super filling meal!

My dessert didn’t turn out so good because the ice-cream that was purchased was quite lousy! >:( Should have gotten something better, because it melts really quickly! I couldn’t even get my layering properly done, but I guess it tasted not too bad since Jerwin asked me how to prepare it. :D Gotta try making this another time, with better ingredients the next time round!

Christmas was a simple and homely affair. Didn’t regret on deciding to give up going out for a fine dining dinner together with Jon, because it’s nice just cooking a feast together with my love. Not only is it economic (about $15/person for an extremely filling meal), we get to work on our culinary skills too! :D Both of us agreed on not to get any present for each other, in the attempt to save some money too. (:

Gotta go crash now since it’s getting late, and I need to wake up early tomorrow. Gonna watch Jon & his brother play football tomorrow, since I have yet to watch my boy played football before. Hey, he’s the captain of the school team when he was in secondary school! Gotta see the boy work on his foot tricks tomorrow, while I melt and die in the sun! Hope it’ll all be fun, and I won’t complain of being bored! :D

I wasn’t feeling well earlier today, and gave the contact lens plant visit to JB a miss and took a longer nap instead. Thankfully after I woke up, I felt a lot better but I still headed to see the doctor later in the afternoon to get my medications. My throat and headache are still giving me quite a bit of problems. ):

Met up with Jon & Raymond in the late afternoon, and I was super late so I treated Raymond to a cuppa bubble tea! Got myself a tank top because I needed one, and then we made our way to wheelock. Made a reservation for a table of 9 at Sun with Moon at 6.30pm, and the 3 of us went to NYDC to get some yummy mudpie! :D

Dinner at Sun with Moon wasn’t too bad. I ordered a Hot pot with collagen ball because it was skin food and I was fascinated! q: The collagen ball looked kinda gross, like a kidney, in the menu. But when it came, the collagen ball actually melted and became part of the soup, how amazing! Bet I sound like a total retard now, but the soup’s really nice! :D Wanted to try the tofu cheesecake, but was a tad too full to go for the desserts.

The gift exchange part was probably the funniest thing of the night though! March kept getting her own present, while the other girls keep trying to avoid getting presents from Jon & Raymond since they kept saying that their presents are quite terrible. Apparently Jolyn got Jon’s present, and she quite liked the small little jewerly box while Kay Minn got Raymond’s incense holder in the form of a steamer, or whatever you call it! It’s the basket that dim sum is served in! Jeanna got my present, and I think she likes it quite a lot. I like the bracelet myself too! My present was from Sook Fung, and it’s a cookbook! Hopefully I’ll get to whip up something from the book! :D

We wanted to catch a movie after the gifts exchange, but the movies we wanted to catch were quite long and the timing weren’t very good on our side. ): We ended up hanging outside Lido for a while, until Jon & Raymond had to leave to Queensway. So the rest of us just walked around town and took some pictures with the christmas trees! Have been doing this for a few years already, since secondary school! :D Settled down at Indochine thereafter to just update each other about random things. Didn’t get myself any drink since I wasn’t feeling well and I had my medication after dinner. They ordered a big plate of fries, and I was so tempted to have some but resisted because I really wanted to recover. ):

Lingered around till it was almost 12am, and then we all rushed off to catch the last train back home. Haven’t been hanging out with the girls for quite a while already, and it was nice just catching up with them and updating each other of the people around us. Some was funny and interesting though. And tonight, I missed Jon a hell load for some reason. He’s flying off next friday, and everything’s just happening too soon. We need more time together. The thought of going through another separation makes me shiver. Sigh, I guess I can’t ask for anything since this is a long distance relationship I’m talking about. ):
