Road Trippin’

Great Ocean Road x Twelve Apostles x Mornington

The last few days of our trip after our photoshoot was spent going on day trips with some of my closest pals who happened to be in Melbourne! It was a ball of fun, and it just makes me miss the entire trip so much more because of them. :'(

Kay Minn joined us on our first part of our day tripping’ adventure and it was off to Great Ocean Road! God knows how many times I bugged Jon to bring me there because I’ve never witnessed the beauty of this iconic place despite visit Melbourne for the fourth time. The new drivers — Kay and I — clocked most of the hours behind the wheels during the drive and it was so much fun driving abroad being a young driver! Winding roads and scenic views, I guess I can’t even find a reason to complain about the speed limit of 35-55km/hr at most bends!

We started taking time lapse videos on our iPhones and somehow we just couldn’t stop at one! It was hilarious how the selfie stick that Kay’s friend got her became such an essential part of the trip/photo taking unknowingly. Oh, and we chanced upon one of the best Fish & Chips that we ever had by a stall at a vintage petrol station at Port Campbell! Well they called it Flakes & Chips, which was perfectly seasoned and Jon described the caramel milkshake that I ordered the true American milkshake — thick and good!

Met up with two of Jon’s Melb buddies at Mapo Grill for some amazing Korean BBQ goodness (so good that we went there twice!), and it was very kind of them to get us an engagement/housewarming/wedding gift (whichever category it falls into) and we loved it! :)

The following day, Stacey joined us and the trip finally felt complete! We had one of the best brunch (in my opinion) at Hammer & Tong 412 and I was so glad that I decided to force Jon to bring us there. I absolutely loved my lavender yogurt paired with dehydrated fruits, I was so surprised at how strong the fruity aroma tasted and the texture was just brittle. So damn good I’d die for another bowl of it right now! Everyone just loved their share of food, I swear that brunch in Singapore will never be the same again. Everything here offers so much more at just a slightly higher price than what we have back home.

Revisited Brighton beach for the first time in 5 years and I never remembered having so much fun! Jon was surprisingly cooperative with all the jumping shots because he’d always reject me whenever I suggest to do so! Then he had this idea of taking pictures of “Superman Levitating” at different locations, mostly captured by Kay because I refused to do so haha! Drove down to Mornington where we had lunch at Jon’s favorite — Two Buoys — before we continued on to vineyards and more sight seeing before we called it a day.

Rewatching the video that I complied on my iPhone makes me miss this place so much, and I believe my next trip to Melbourne will not be any time soon. :(

Thank you Melbourne for being so special in my life in many different ways. And till we meet again. x

And thank you for your kind words, it really brings a smile to my face that someone actually bothers to read this space even though I have been really inactive for some time. :) You can grab the Rayban here from my online store: http://lumieredays.com/product/rb302559-flashlens/ (do support, heh!)
