13th January 2014 • Day Two

Jon & I woke up early on the second day of our trip because I was tricked into “heading to explore the resort” when the act plan he had up his sleeves was the proposal. We went around the resort and the nearby cafes beside it to explore the place and have some fun. It was really therapeutic just to be taking things slow hearings the waves crash, and people-watch those surfers falling and getting back up.

After the proposal and the mini engagement shoot, our driver drove us to Klapa Lounge where we had our Indonesian Fare for lunch. Jon loved his Bebek Be Tutu – roasted duck, marinated with Balinese spice paste wrapped in banana leaf  – and he couldn’t stop raving about it even when we left. And… I loved my soup! It looked so mediocre but I swear the Indonesian soups my taste buds laid on were all so good! The food was good, but the beach wasn’t big and was a little unimpressive so we took some photos and headed back to our villa thereafter.

Prepped up and took on a two hours drive to Ku De Ta for our celebratory engagement dinner as planned by Jon. Couldn’t believe that he’d slot a place into the itinerary even though it was a two hours drive away from where we were, but we both loved it. We were impressed with the entire setting of the restaurant, overlooking the beautiful beach and the day beds by the restaurant. We had a 12 course meal, and I regretted it because I was filled to the brim halfway through our meal. But ever dish served was really good, and I’d strongly encourage anyone who is visiting Bali to visit because… it was really affordable! How does paying approx. SGD90 for a 12 course meal? That would make each dish about $7.50, and that might be even cheaper than grabbing a sandwich from a cafe back home.

This day is truly, the most memorable day of my life. x
