Exactly ten days ago, it was the birthday of my favourite person alive and we had a really simple day out. I’m such a terrible girlfriend because I failed to do some proper planning for his birthday, unlike what he did for mine. But this man made no complains, and told me that he enjoyed the day very much with the lack of arrangements and simplicity we had through the day.
I had planned to have lunch at Aoki but the moment I reached the place, they were fully seated and I had no Plan B. (I am soooo terrible! #whyimakeaterriblegirlfriend #1) So we made an impromptu lunch decision at Sun With Moon and I am glad that Jon enjoyed his meal. I headed up to the waitress while he wasn’t paying attention and got them to lit a candle on a tofu cheesecake (which he didn’t want to order because it was too expensive in his opinion) and I’m so glad that this little gesture brought a smile to his face.
We headed over to MBS thereafter because he wanted to buy Phantom of the Opera tickets for his folks and we randomly made our rounds into the luxury boutiques to have a quick glimpse at the eyewear, and it occurred to me that perhaps I should get him a little something (because I didn’t buy any beforehand. #whyimakeaterriblegirlfriend #2). So while he headed to the ticketing counter, I headed to the toilet and rushed to the boutique to grab his birthday present. That shocked and surprised face of his was absolutely priceless, and I thought that this would definitely be a good encouragement and a kickstart to his career.
We spent the rest of the night having dinner at his place, watching a few episodes of Friends (his favourite sitcom ever) and laze around in bed before hitting the sack. It was such an ideal day just taking the day at the pace of our own, getting some ample rest because we have been far too busy. And that also marked the end of our 88th month together as one. ♡
August so far has been amazing, and I hope that all odds that came our way this month will not be too tough for us to handle. *fingers crossed*
