The second half of my birthday was an absolute surprise that totally caught me off guard. After an impromptu dessert session with Jon’s folks after our lunch, they drove us to the Korean restaurant where Jon made dinner reservations at. Initially, I suggested cancelling dinner to have a meal at home but somehow Jon refused – weirdly. As we arrived at the restaurant, we were led to the private room instead of the usual dining area and I started to feel that something was amiss since the entire day was supposed to be just the both of us. But as the waiter opened the door, I was shocked beyond words to see some of closest friends seated right before me. It was such a pleasant surprise – one that was even better than my 21st birthday.
The entire night was filled with laughter and smiles I can’t even contain it in me, I practically smiled like a fool as I ate. Oh wait, I don’t think I even eat that much but I was feeling so full already. Maybe it was the food I had prior to dinner, or maybe it is just happiness exploding in me I couldn’t stuff myself any further.
Jon always has an amazing way of bringing people from different walks of life together, and he did that to the different group of friends I had. My first birthday since Jon came back for good, and he made it more special than anyone has ever done for me. I can’t be more blessed than I am already am with the people who loves me the most by my side. ♡
