3rd – 6th April 2013
DAY THREE ◆ The first stop of the day was us taking a cab to Yaowarat (Chinatown), and believe it or not it was my first time there after visiting Bangkok for the third time in the past 4 years! But truth to be told, we didn’t exactly explore the place because of the sweltering heat – so we spent quite a bit of time searching for Nai Sow, which served absolutely amazing food that’s located away from the touristy area, and had bird’s nest for desserts. Took the Tuk Tuk for the very first time and though I felt like I was gonna lose my life, it was pretty damn exciting! :p Headed back to the masseur near our hotel to pamper our feet a little before heading off to Asiatique. Apparently this was a new hangout place which is rather similar to Singapore’s Clarke Quay. I’d say it has a rather interesting concept, but due to the time constrain we couldn’t cover the entire place. ☹ Would definitely allocate a little more time there to shop a little more the next visit to Bangkok!
DAY FOUR ◆ Climbed out of bed really early and we headed off to one of my favourite place in Bangkok – Chatuchak! I’d always love shopping at these places more than the malls (minus the heat), but it was a pity that I bought only two items this time round. I think I’ve held myself back from a lot of shopping this trip and I’d take it as something I can compliment myself on! Really thankful that Jon has been ever so patient and did not make a single complain during the entire trip; just imagine going on a shopping trip with three girls! Later that afternoon, Peiyu & Jinglan headed to the airport and took a flight back to Singapore while we stayed on for the second part of our trip. Jon & I headed back to Som Tam Nua for dinner because I was craving for the soup! Really gotta love eating in Thailand – amazingly tasty and cheap!
I’m missing Bangkok so much from blabbering on about this recent getaway, and I am definitely going to be planning on a trip there again soon! Hopefully. *fingers crossed*
