DAY ONE ◆ My long awaited getaway (even though it is just Thailand) was nothing short of fun and amazing with the lovely company! Visited Bangkok with Jon and two of my girlfriends – Jinglan and Peiyu. Checked into our hotel, Tango Vibrant, to leave our baggage and off we went on our adventure around Bangkok city! Headed off to MBK to grab some items, and we headed to Boss Avenue (located at Nana Station) where Jon tailor-made his shirt for work! Bangkok never fails to make me happy, and I am starting to feel like a semi-local knowing how to get around but their public transport! ☺ Our initial itinerary kinda back-fired so we just planned according to whatever time we had on hand, and headed to Siam Square thereafter. Had A&W for a mid-day snack and we were recharged for a lot more walking for the rest of the day. The girls wanted to get their nails fixed, and I managed to psycho Jon to join us with a foot spa which I’m so glad that he enjoyed! I’m not one who get my nails done, but there is no reason not to pamper ourselves like Queens especially when it is so much cheaper here. ☺ Dinner at Som Tam Nua never fails to satisfy my palate for Thai Cuisine, and I absolutely L O V E the spicy pork soup. (I’m already salivating at the thought of it!) Shopped at the night market along Siam Square and walked back to our hotel, where we later decided to go on a foot massage at 11.30pm that night. It was such a relieve because all of our legs were aching terribly from the entire day of walking!
DAY TWO ◆ Woke up early and our plan for the day was to raid Platinum Mall. And, as pathetic as it sounds, I’ve finally tried out their food court which serves pretty good food. We spent the morning and afternoon there, and I was so surprised that I bought a lot lesser than my previous trip/what I’ve planned to buy. Somehow the rationale side of me came on the trip together with me and stopped me from buying a lot of things unlike the previous trip, even though it really felt like I would have regretted not buying them since they’re so damn worth the money. While the girls headed over to MBK, Jon and I headed back to the Tailor for the fitting and he loved what he has gotten for himself! It seems like Jon and I might be planning on an annual trip to Bangkok for food and shopping! :D The four of us reunited at Fuji Restaurant at night for dinner together, and we walked back to the hotel.
We walked the most for the first two days it was insane. I felt like my legs were gonna give way any moment, and the first two days was literally the only days that we actually walked back to the hotel every night. We got so tired (and lazy) of walking we took the Tuk Tuk for the next few days.
I’ve no idea why, but somehow thinking about this trip to Bangkok trip as I am typing this down makes me smile. ☺ ✗
