Jon and I took on a four day trip to Kuala Lumpur – Petaling Jaya to be exact – last weekend to look for his Melbourne buddies. We’ve visited them over the last few years so many times, but visiting them during the Chinese New Year Period is a first. We feasted (as usual), played so much games – specifically mahjong and black jack – and slept at the wee hours of the morning. A slow and relaxing trip that I expected flew back in a blink of an eye, and I’ve been busy having fun it wasn’t even as slow as I expected it to be. Ray was a warm host, as usual, and his two little doggies are such sweethearts despite barking so frequently. On the last night, I spent my time soaking up in a lavender sea salt jacuzzi, listening to Olivia Ong & some of my favourite songs, and sipping on a pot of hot green tea. Life’s little pleasures.

A much needed getaway with the boyfriend, and I could tell he totally enjoyed himself with his bunch of best buddies. He immediately showed me his soft side as we departed, and told me how he was already missing them. I swear visiting Malaysia is never the same without the group of people, and this is the best kind of traveling experience – one where you eat and live like a local. x
