Te Anau Downs
DAY FOUR 11th August 2012 x Woke up early in the morning and took on a three hour drive from Te Anau to Milford Sound, also known as Piopiotahi in Maori. We arrived at this port and took a ferry out into the fiords and look at the famous Milford Sound, which should actually be a fiord instead of a sound. It was a pretty foggy day and being out in the sea made it colder. As we sailed out further into the fiord and out towards the Tasman Sea, the waves got stronger and I felt a little sea sick which I usually wouldn’t. :/ When the two hour tour ended, we took a drive back to Te Anau and stopped by quite a few places in between to take a few pictures. Te Anau Downs at twilight was one of the most beautiful sightings along the way. So damn gorgeous.
This was such a great getaway from the hectic city life into the arms of Mother Nature. I just wish I had better photography skills to better capture what I’ve seen before my eyes.
